Twice as hard.

I registered for "Ten for Texas" today. That would be a 10-mile run through The Woodlands in mid October. I don't know what came over me. Clearly, an overwhelming sense of optimism, for one thing.

Some of you will recall my Herculean effort for a five-mile run last Thanksgiving. That was one thing. This is quite another.

I have not run in at least a month. It's too freaking hot here now, and my workdays have not permitted lunch-time trips to the gym. This does not bode well for my performance in October.

Not one tiny bit.

But here's my thinking: Once I complete the 10-mile run in October, five miles at Thanksgiving will seem like nothing, right?

Right?

Oh, boy....

P.S. This is entry 198. In case you were wondering. I was. I had to go check my stats, because I'd already lost count. Doesn't speak well of my commitment level to this site anymore, does it?
