What might have been.
Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 7:34AM Did anyone see the news about King Tut yesterday? After some 3,000 years, scientists have determined how he probably died. I think it's cool that they were able to do that. But he's an unlikely hero-monarch, really.
He's sort of the Kato Kaelin of pharaohs. He's accidentally famous. If Carter's expedition had uncovered another tomb, the world would have spent the last nine decades enthralled with a different king. Someone else would have taken up that spot in pop culture.
Think about it: Batman might have been battling King Akhenaten. Or King Akh, for short. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. And Steve Martin may have written a song about...well, I don't know. Seti? I guess that would have been okay; it rhymes with "yeti." That could be entertaining. And that creepy beard that Brad Pitt has been sporting, what would we call it? The Ramses? That would be sort of funny, wouldn't it?
Hey, did you see Brad Pitt's wearing a Ramses? I don't know how Angelina puts up with that.
Um, excuse me??
Wow. It's probably a good thing Carter's team stumbled into Tut's tomb, instead of someone else's.

So how did he die?
Broken leg + malaria. Check out the article. It's pretty interesting. I added the link to the post, above, as well.
