I can make this work.

Remember this entry? This could be the problem.

I made a list of the things I probably had to do in order to be a successful writer. It was pretty grim. However, now that I've learned that writers are among the most depressed (and sometimes depressing, no doubt) members of society, I believe I have accomplished at least part of item number two on that list.

And then there is this: You may recall my recent and unfortunately recurring shoulder complaint. It hurt like a mother. I took painkillers to make it feel better. They did...but they also made me feel awful just about everywhere else. So, while I can't say that I can see myself becoming addicted to them (quite the opposite, in fact), I believe I can now say that I have had a chemical issue. That has to be good for part of item number four.

I can write my way around it and make it sound much more nefarious, I'm sure. And, as for the rest, I can make up some good stuff for that, too.

After all, as Elaine learned while working on J. Peterman's biography, people love interesting writing.
