A numbered list.

I have a love/hate relationship with to-do lists. The love comes from the satisfaction I feel when I can write down a set of tasks that I want to complete and then check those tasks off when I have, in fact, completed them.

The hate comes from the fact that I end up with little scraps of paper all over the place, some of which I lose; others of which die a horrible and lonely death at the bottom of my purse. Very few of these lists survive past infancy and ever accumulate those little check marks.

And then I got an iPhone. (So, I do have some sheep-like tendencies, after all.) It took my mother and both my daughters to convince me of the need and utility of such a device. I like my iPhone. It's a good phone. I like being able to check my e-mail when I'm away from home. The iPod feature is way cool. But by far, my favorite and most-used feature is the notepad.

What a great idea.  A little electronic sticky-note for me to keep track of things. A sampling of my lists:

  • Music to download (my daughters and I add to this all the time)
  • Groceries (for quick trips or just keeping track)
  • Today (the generic to-do list)
  • Household repairs (blech)
  • Smith Street (ah-ha!)

It's a good thing I brought this back around to writing. I was beginning to feel like Andy Rooney. And that's not right.

What is next on the list for WHOSS? A good question. Let me consult my iPhone. Ah! Media. Well. That's quite a big bite for me.  I think I'll start small with some local stuff, here in The Woodlands. And, I'm working on a book signing up here, as well. Someplace fun. I'll be sure and let you all know.

Off to write a press release. Or perhaps I will just eat my own hand instead. Sounds a whole lot easier.
