And the sparkling wine was a nice touch.
Monday, December 14, 2009 at 6:30AM Yesterday was the big book signing at Hubbell & Hudson. As with most such events, I sat there at the beginning and thought, "Oh, boy. What am I doing here?"
But, you know what? It was fun! Of course, I love that place, so getting to hang out and people watch for a couple of hours was pretty nice. And Rebecca was with me, as was my 12-year-old daughter, so I had excellent company.
Most of the folks who stopped by were people I had invited; people I already knew. But we did snare a few unknowns, and one gentleman marched up to my table with tremendous purpose and asked, "Are you the author?"
(You know I love that, right? I mean, that's truly all I need out of this.)
At my left was a table spread with three kinds of brie and some sparkling wine. Holy smokes. The brie! Blue brie, goat's milk brie, cow's milk brie. Candied figs and strawberries, too.
Blue brie + candied fig + wafer-thin cracker x sparkling wine = heaven on my tongue.
And, yes, we sold some books, too. More than at the last signing, in fact. I am happy.
I have posted the next installment of Brave Front in Erin's Workshop.
