Block and tackle.
Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 8:10AM Oh, I'm all blocked up, mentally. Dan Brown uses gravity boots--or I guess they're called "inversion boots" now--when he hits a wall. I'm not quite at that point yet. Well, I suppose I am at that point, but I don't own a pair of "inversion boots."
(Now I'm thinking back to Rebecca's upside-down, caramel macchiato order, or whatever it was. Stirred; not shaken, mind you.)
(Oh, now I'm thinking of Daniel Craig. The hell with inversion boots, just send him over. That ought to unblock me.)
(Um, did I write that out loud?)
Which brings me, finally (and thankfully), to a phrase that I wish would be stricken from the lexicon: "[Blank] out loud."
As in, "Live out loud." Or, "Believe out loud."
For crying out loud, people. Shut up, already! What is this need to do everything at increased volume? What's wrong with living quietly, or believing quietly? And don't even (EVEN) tell me that I'm complicit in this trend, by simple virtue of this blog. There are more people interested in the migratory habits of ungulates than there are interested in my strange musings. (Probably a good thing, yes.)
Well. I feel better. Even marginally less blocked. (But if Mr. Craig should appear on my door step, I wouldn't send him away.)
While I'm at it, and on a serious note, please take a look at the following site and, if it's something within (or perhaps only slightly outside of) your comfort zone, consider joining the National Bone Marrow Registry. www.bethematch.org.
Wonder Woman with a cause. Could there be anything more daunting? I think not....
